AmiUnity

The AmiUnity initiative, developed in partnership with the Ministry of Education, encourages Israelis to explore the rich diversity of Jewish life globally and inspire them to help make Israel a welcoming home for all Jews.

More than 1,000 senior educators and officials participated in AmiUnity programs in 2019 leading to Jewish Peoplehood curricula reaching 250,000+ Israelis.

Through this program, hundreds of thousands of kids, teens and young adults feel more a part of the larger Jewish people and gain an understanding of the importance of religious pluralism.

In just a short time, the AmiUnity program, while built to really impact young Israelis aged 7-25, has also had a profound impact on the educators themselves who teach this pluralistic curriculum. Ilanit, the principal of an elementary school in Be’er Sheva, traveled to New York as part of her AmiUnity training, an experience she never thought would be so eye-opening.

“Meeting North American Jews and leaders led me to reassess my relationship with Judaism and deepened my connection to world Jewry,” shared Ilanit. “I suddenly felt a real bond to these American Jews, who I had thought were so different than me — but I came to realize that in the most important ways, we are the same.” Read more of Ilanit’s inspiring story >
